What is Mobilize?
Mobilize is a seasonal work and travel adventure. This is your opportunity to live and work in amazing Canadian locations, work with national brands, and make memories that last a lifetime!
Is this a paid opportunity?
Yes! This is a paid, full-time opportunity. Wages vary according to the province you will be working in, and you may have the opportunity to make tips depending on your position.
What types of positions will I have?
You will be in each location (e.g. town/city/tourist destination, etc.) for a season such as six months for summer or winter, and will be working in a different role in either the restaurant or hotel industry in each location. Roles available include, but are not limited to, Front Desk Attendant, Housekeeping, , Server, Kitchen Helper, etc. The types of positions available will grow as we partner with more companies across the country. You will have the opportunity to indicate what kind of roles you would be interested in during the interview process but you will be working both front of house and back of house positions during the program.
Do I need experience?
NO INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY TO APPLY FOR THIS PROGRAM! You just need to have the right attitude, a sense of adventure, a desire to learn, and the ability to commit to a six month seasonal deployment with the program. You will be given the training you need to be ready to take on these roles and continuously mentored throughout the program by Mobilize staff.
Where will I be living?
The locations (e.g. town/city/tourist destination, etc.) involved in the program depend on the partnering businesses participating in Mobilize. The program is launching in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario, and will be expanding across the country. For example, you could be living in Banff, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Jasper, or Whistler.
What about housing?
The greatest part about this program is that furnished housing is completely FREE! Your employers are providing housing for you throughout your involvement in the program. You and other workers will be sharing accommodations for the season – think university-style housing. If you have friends who may be interested in experiencing this program as well – let us know! You could be roommates on this awesome adventure.
Will I be safe with my roommates?
Yes. All Mobilize job seekers must meet strict criteria before being accepted into the program, including a clear background check, positive work and character references, and in-depth interviews that determine the overall fit with the program.
How do I apply?
You can apply directly through our website at https://www.mobilizejobs.ca/job-seekers/submit-application/ or you can send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What happens after I apply?
First of all, THANK YOU for your application. We are continually scheduling interviews – if you are what we are looking for, you will hear from us within a week. If you would like to follow up on your application, please email email@example.com. Read the blog post on this topic for more information
If I am offered a job, when do I leave?
Our groups leave two seasons annually, every summer and winter. Once you are offered a contract with us, we will have socials, training, and orientation leading up to your departure so that you get to know who you will be travelling with, and to be completely ready to hit the road for your adventure in multiple Canadian locations!
Do you charge any fees?
There may be a nominal fee for training; however we will discuss that with you during the interview process as there may be funding available if you meet the criteria.
Who pays for travel?
You are responsible for your travel costs throughout the duration of your program experience.
Will I be safe?
Mobilize only partners with ethical and credible employers. We go to great lengths to ensure all our employers provide safe and compliant work environments for our staff.
Can I apply with a group of friends?
Of course! If you and a group of friends are applying together, let us know! If you are all offered contracts, we will ensure that you are housed together so that you are able to share this amazing adventure.
How does this opportunity prepare me for the future?
You will gain valuable work experiences, training to improve your employability, job skills, and life skills. This program will not only grow your resume, you will also gain contacts and connections across the country that can be used for future opportunities.
